1,000 receive free eye care in Khagrachhari

KHAGRACHHARI, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long free medical and eye care camp was held in Dighinala upazila of the district today, benefiting around 1,000 underprivileged and distressed patients.

The initiative was taken by the Dighinala Zone of Khagrachari Region at the grounds of Dighinala Girls High School, starting at 10:00 am. 

The camp aimed to provide accessible healthcare services, particularly focusing on eye-related issues among rural and disadvantaged communities.

A team of experienced eye specialists conducted examinations and offered treatment to patients throughout the day. 

The programme was arranged under the joint initiative of Lions Club International and Rotary Club, with support from local authorities.

During the camp, more than a hundred patients diagnosed with cataracts received free treatment.
