Jamadi-us-Sani month to begin on Nov 23

DHAKA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - The month of Jamadi-us-Sani, also known as Jumada al-Thani, the sixth month of the Hijri year 1447, will begin in Bangladesh on November 23.

The crescent of Jamadi us Sani was not sighted anywhere in the country today.

Accordingly, Jumada al-Awwal will be completed as a 30-day month on Saturday, November 22, and Jamadi-us-Sani will commence from Sunday, November 23, a PID release said today.

The decision was made at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held in the evening at the Baitul Mukarram Conference Hall under the Bangladesh Islamic Foundation.

Md Imtiaz Hossain, Secretary (Routine Charge) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, presided over the meeting.

Officials reviewed reports from all district administrations, the headquarters and field offices of the Bangladesh Islamic Foundation, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department and the Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization before confirming the start of the new month.
