
RAJSHAHI, May 26, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton today said that, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directive, the city corporation will remove sacrificial animal waste and clean the city within 6 to 8 hours.
“The Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, has instructed all city corporations in the country to remove sacrificial waste within 12 hours,” he said, seeking the cooperation of city dwellers in carrying out the task.
“Under the management of the RCC, preparations have been made to hold Eid prayers at six Eidgahs, including the Central Eidgah. The work is now in its final stage,” he added.
The RCC administrator said, “The Prime Minister has given Tk 5,000 to each of the RCC’s 1,237 cleaners as an Eid gift. This is a mark of respect, love, and recognition for the cleaners and their hard work. It will encourage and inspire them in their duties. On Monday, we distributed the Prime Minister’s Eid gifts among the cleaners.”
On the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha, he inspected the preparations at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (RA) Central Eidgah and other Eidgahs.
At noon today, the RCC administrator visited the Eid prayer venues at Rajshahi Central Eidgah and Tikapara Eidgah ground and supervised the final-stage preparations.
During the inspection, RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin, other officials, BNP leaders, leaders of affiliated and associate organisations, and other dignitaries were present.
