Municipality tax fair, free medical camp inaugurated in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - A five-day municipality tax fair and a day-long free medical camp were inaugurated today in Rangamati district.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah formally inaugurated the tax fair at 10:00 am on the premises of Rangamati Municipality.

The theme of this year's tax fair is: 'Niyomito Paurokor Porishodh Kori, Nagorik Sheba Nischit Kori'.

To mark the occasion, an awareness rally and a discussion meeting were organized. The rally began from the Rangamati Paurasava Market and ended at the municipality premises.

Rangamati Municipality Administrator and Additional District Administrator Md. Mobarak Hossain presided over the event.

Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, General Secretary of Rangamati District BNP and President of the Chamber of Commerce, senior lawyer Advocate Moktar Ahmed, Rangamati Municipality Chief Executive Officer Md. Yasin, and Dr. Fazlul Haq, Director of Metropolitan Hospital, among others, were present at the event.

As part of the fair, various service booths have been set up at the municipality premises.

Municipality Administrator Md. Mobarak Hossain said residents of the city's nine wards will be able to access services related to taxes and other municipal matters through these stalls. 

Meanwhile, at the free medical camp, over 300 people from the district are expected to receive basic healthcare services.
