NATORE, June 20, 2025 (BSS)– Two persons were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run three-wheeler on the Natore-Rajshahi highway this evening.
One of the deceased has been identified as Md. Babu, 40, a CNG driver from Harigacha village in Natore Sadar upazila. The identity of the other deceased, a 35-year-old man, is yet to be confirmed.
The accident occurred around 5:15 PM in the Banbelgharia bypass area of Natore city, according to SI Md Abul Kalam of the Highway Police's Jhalmalia outpost
He said the CNG was going to Natore from Rajshahi when it collided head-on with a Rabbi Paribahan passenger bus coming from opposite direction from Sirajganj to Rajshahi, leaving one passenger died on the spot and three others critically injured.
Members of the fire service rushed to the scene, rescued the injured and sent them to Natore Sadar Hospital, where driver Md. Babu later succumbed to his injuries, he added.
One of the two remaining injured has been transferred in critical condition to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital while the other is receiving treatment at Natore Modern Sadar Hospital.
The bus driver and helper fled the scene immediately after the accident. However, police have seized the bus and are preparing to file a case in connection with the incident.
