Nine troublemakers with firearms detained in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army has detained nine members of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti (PCJSS) and recovered country-made firearms from their possessions during a raid in Alikadam upazila here.

The detainees have been identified as Holles Anandamohan Chakma, 72, Chhatiya Tripura, 60, Kalparanjan Chakma, 45, Chatui Chakma, 35, Shanti Ranjan Chakma, 35, Shantiram Chakma, 33, Pakhiram Tripura, 31, Jyotibikash Chakma, 28 and Jewel Tripura, 26. 

They were arrested on Friday morning in the Punarbasan Chakmapara and Emmanuel Tripurapara areas under Tongkwati Union, according to a press release issued by the Alikadam Army Zone.

During the operation, the security forces recovered five country-made shotguns (Gada Banduk), two barrels of bullets, three knives and other weapons.
