4 terrorists held, arms, ammunition, drugs seized in Khulna

KHULNA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - A joint forces team arrested four terrorists from the City's Tutpara area early today after conducting a three-and-a-half-hour drive, said a press release issued by Khondokar Hossain Ahmed, assistant commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).

The arrested are Salahuddin Molla Bulbul, 44, son of Babul Molla, resident of Taltola Tutpara main road, Towhidur Rahman, 42, son of late Sheikh Habibur Rahman, resident of Tutpara main road, Arif Hossain, 31, son of Shafiqul Islam Molla, Taltola main road and Tasfiqur Rahman, 19, son of Towhidur Rahman, resident of Tutpara main road in the city.

On secret information, the Joint forces team comprised of the Bangladesh army and police went on drives around 1.30 am today, the press release said.

The team also seized one foreign pistol, two rounds of bullets, one revolver, one shotgun, four rounds of cartridges, 105 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, passports, mobile phones and huge sharp weapons from their possessions.

Police filed a drugs and arms case against them with the Khulna police station.

The operation is ongoing to determine whether any criminal incidents have been committed with the recovered illegal weapons in the recent past, to interrogate the accused, to find out the source of the illegal firearms and bullets, to determine whether the recovered weapons were used in any terrorist activities, to uncover the main mystery of who is involved in the purchase and sale of firearms, to arrest other associated terrorists involved, and to recover more illegal weapons and ammunition, said the press release.

Initially, after reviewing the police station records, information was found that there were 3 cases against terrorist Bulbul and one case against Touhidur at Khulna Sadar Police Station, the press release added.
