2 held with 20-kg ganja in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers with 20 kg of contraband ganja from the Pirganj area of Pirganj police station in Rangpur district on Friday night.
 

On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) searched a microbus, seized the smuggled ganja and the microbus and arrested the duo from the spot at 11 pm, a press release said today.

 
The detainees are Md Kashem Ali, 23, son of Md Shamsul Haq of village Taluk Shakhati and Md Ahedul Islam, 45, son of Abdar Ali of village Koitari under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district.
 

The elite force handed over the arrested persons along with the seized goods and vehicle to Pirganj police station in Rangpur today for further legal action, the release said.
