CHATTOGRAM (North), June 22, 2025 (BSS) - A drum truck driver and helper were 
killed when their vehicle hit a container-carrying lorry in Thakurdighi Bazar 
area under Mirsarai upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased are drum truck driver Faruk Hossain, 39, son of Abdul Mannan of 
Basu Mia Para in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari district and helper, 
Rabiul Islam, 35, son of Anwarul Islam of Chakkartoil area in Delduar upazila 
of Tangail district.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 7.30 am when a 
speedy drum truck hit a container lorry from behind, said Sarkar Abdullah 
Alam Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Highway Police Station.

The drum truck driver died on the spot and helper Robiul was rescued in 
critical condition and took him to the local upazila health complex where on-
duty doctors declared him dead.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Chittagong Medical College 
Hospital morgue.
