Earning people's trust is biggest achievement of police: Addl IGP

RANGPUR, June 22, 2025 (BSS) - Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Akram Hossain has said earning the people's trust is the biggest achievement of the police force, the frontline warrior in maintaining law and order. 
 
"The police are not just engaged in a profession, but are committed to providing humanitarian services. Their main responsibility is to enforce the law, suppress crime and ensure the safety of life and property of citizens," he said.
 
The additional IGP said this while addressing the passing out parade of the 25th Trainee Recruit Constables (TRC) Batch - 2025 held at the Police Training Centre in Rampur metropolis on Sunday as the chief guest.
 
Earlier, he inspected the parade and took salute from the impressive march-past of the trainee recruit constables.
 
The Rangpur Police Training Center organized the colorful passing out parade participated by 458 trainees of the 25th Women TRC batch.
 
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police DIG Aminul Islam administered the oath to the trainees at the event.
 
Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, senior police officers, government officials from various departments, guardians and journalists were present at the event. 
 
The Additional IGP said that this training not only makes the TRC physically and mentally skilled, but also creates a sense of responsibility, discipline and service mentality. 
 
"For this, one must take every day of professional life as an opportunity to learn and develop their inner leadership qualities," he said.
 
Along with maintaining law and order, the police perform their duties bravely during any disaster or crisis. 
 
He urged the police members to work with the highest efficiency and professionalism to build a safe, humane and developed Bangladesh. 
 
Later, the chief guest distributed medals among the best TRC in different categories.
