South Point School & College win 3rd round

DHAKA, Apr 8, 2026 (BSS) - South Point School & College beat Turkmenistan’s Rus Pushkin School by 3-1 game points in the third round of Asian Continental stage FIDE–ISCF World School Chess Championship held in Almaty, Kazakhstan today (Wednesday).

In the day’s third-round matches, Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed defeated Omar Hamrakulyyev of Rus Pushkin School. Safayat Kibria Azaan and Sidratul Muntaha Nafi split point with Osman Hamrakulyyev and Enejan Charygeldiyeva respectively while Azaan Mahmud got walkover.

However, in the fourth round held later in the afternoon, South Point School & College suffered a 0–4 defeat against India’s Velammal MHS School. Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed, Safayat Kibria Azaan, Sidratul Muntaha Nafi, and Azaan Mahmood of South Point School & College all lost their respective games to Woman Candidate Master Pooja Shree, R. V. Pavithra, Candidate Master A. Aarav, and M. Athvik of the Velammal MHS School respectively.

After four rounds, South Point School & College has collected four points.
